I am kept reminding once in a very odd while about the need for a family trip on the Metro, as we haven't gone through this ritual yet. But somehow it hasn't happened till date, although it keeps popping up sporadically over dinner. Moot point:
With the Metro, and with life, you only get done what you need to get done. If there is no passion in the want, it never becomes a need. If there is no need, it's not needed.
All mighty accomplishments have been underscored by this one element,- passion. Armchair ambitions have rarely risen beyond the hand-rest.

ReplyDeleteYou need to take the Metro Ride not only for the fun of it but also to show commitment to Dubai.
You owe an answer to yourself-Will the metro ease the traffic congestion and thus less greehouses (from your BMW/Volvo/Prado) or is it a white elephantish garangutan exercise in vanity giving commuters no more than bragging rights of having travelled in the worlds largest and most expensive 7 Billion dollar driverless train system
Make a Visit to IBN BATUTA Mall by Metro Take the ride from Al Rashidiya Station, where you can park your car, to Nakheel Harbour and Tower. From Nakhell Harbour Tower, take a Feeder Bus F999 to IBN BATUTA. Spend a few hours at the mall. A Good option is to explore the Hot Air Baloon these days- It costs AED 30+ AED 30 recession surchage!! per person for a 15 minute ride at 100 feet above desert level and do the return metro trip to Rashidiya
Take the ride and make a judgement for yourself whether what HH dreamt and built is a product of passion or armchair ambition
