Richard Feynman:
There are 10^11 stars in the galaxy. That used to be a huge number. But it's only a hundred billion. It's less than the national deficit! We used to call them astronomical numbers. Now we should call them economical numbers.
This is a personal diary, and in no way reflects any opinion or view of the Spiritual Organization that I am part of. I have always lived my heart on my sleeve; so, I guess you read what I think and live. Regarding my spiritual affiliation: If you ask me whether I am a Sai devotee, my answer is No. I am not a Sai devotee if it goes to mean that I follow the teachings of Sai. But I am a Sai devotee if you refer to my Absolute Devotion to the form that embodies Absolute Reality.
Astronomical, Economical or Mind Nourishment?
ReplyDeleteCompared to our galaxy, Andromeda has 400 billion stars. The Eurozone bailout package is Euro (not even dollars) 750 Billion. The IC 1101 giant lenticular galaxy at the center of the Abell 2029 galaxy cluster has reportedly 100 Trillion Stars. An Average Human has 27 Trillion Trillion cells in his body with 7 x 10 raised to 27 number of atoms inside it
Why should diversity be so huge. Doesnt God understand economics- Should he not practise ceiling on desires (on the size and magnitude of diversity?)
Johanes Kepler perhaps has one answer: The diversity of the phenomena of nature is so great and the treasures hidden in the heavens so rich precisely in order that the human mind shall never be lacking in fresh nourishment"!
