Further PR damage

A youth wing member and close friend confided to me yesterday that one of my fundamental deficiencies was poor PR. I don't disagree, simply because I have always felt that PR is for politicians. And I have never wanted to be one. I have only one hand, the one that you see. Maybe one requires two hands to be popular.

  1. You were and are in an organisation where being "what you are" gets you into trouble and where "what you want" and "what you do not get" is always one and the same thing.

There are too things you can do- Be what you are and "Resist, fight and oppose tooth and nail" every individual working and every wrong practise prevalent in the organisation only to ultimately learn that the old agage "What you resist persists" has a somehwat convoluted application and relevance to your experiences in the organisation. You will realise that people, events and circumstances hitback at you with greater ferocity and venom than ever before. The other option is to abjectly surrender and meekly accept with subservience, the flow of events and the dictates of the heirarchy in the organisation. I think there is no middle path- the George Bush Theory of "either you are with us or against us" applies. Swami recommends the second approach and I will address that in a comment at a later date.

This organisation exists only with the sole objective of making you realise you are nobody. That is the admission test you passed, that is the criteria used by Swami to choose you in the first place. If you forget this, there are enough "dynamite" personalities to remind you of your "nobodyness". Mind you- this is not being sarcastic of the organisation- This is a compliment because this is how Swamy wants us to evolve.

Also remember the more you evolve, the smaller your ego becomes and the smaller your ego there more explosive it becomes to you and to others. John Asraf states that it only takes an atom or to make an atomic bomb. The " smaller the matter, greater its destructive power". We have to realise that when we evolve our egos become infinitesimally smaller than an even an atom- You can imagine its destructive power!

The key to realise is that Swamy wants us to dissolve our ego and do more seva- Whether you have PR skills or not does not make any difference. But if having a skill or absence of a skill makes you have an ego, then that ego will be quashed. So if you are proud that you are not a politician, Swamy will make you realise that he is even prepared to make you even a bad guy only to constantly remind you that your work has to done in a detached fashion, the label that you get- good politician, good PR skills, bad communication skills etc actually makes no difference. If a bad label gets you more detached quickly gets you to remember your "nobodyness" quickly HE will ensure you get one in the most expeditious fashion

So what has happened to you and what your friend has told you is Ego damage and not PR damage and it is good for you Praveen!!

  2. Always be sure of what you want from a particular act or service. If u wanted to serve and you have done it, it ends there. What others think or say is not your business.

What you think about yourself is important. If you are satisfied then you have done your bit.
