Sri Sri Sri has got a way with all things illusory.
Then Guruji said: "If you don't laugh over a joke if it is repeated more than once then why cry over the same grief again and again?"
This is a personal diary, and in no way reflects any opinion or view of the Spiritual Organization that I am part of. I have always lived my heart on my sleeve; so, I guess you read what I think and live. Regarding my spiritual affiliation: If you ask me whether I am a Sai devotee, my answer is No. I am not a Sai devotee if it goes to mean that I follow the teachings of Sai. But I am a Sai devotee if you refer to my Absolute Devotion to the form that embodies Absolute Reality.
A Good one
ReplyDeleteGrief can be emotional or physical. Physical Grief is "pain" whereas emotional grief is "suffering". Pain is inevitable in life -It is suffering that is optional!-Sri Sri
Emotional grief or suffering is caused by resistance to reality or non acceptance of a situation, event, incident or a relationship. Ego is the cause of all resistance and non acceptance and hence also of all negative emotions and grief. 99% of all our suffering is ego driven emotional grief!
Every suffering in man's life is due to thinking. The ego loves thinking. Thinking distorts the view of the world and helps ego-and suffering to survive. Thinking is a form of resistance to what is. Thinking hardly has got to do anything with the reality in hand. Thinking happens when awareness slips below a certain threshold level.
Surrender ends thinking. "The end of thinking is the end of the ego and thus of suffering."-Ekhart Tolle
Conscious effort to think also ends thinking- "I will consciously allow my mind to think of my pain" Try doing this- Minds stop thinking and hence stops suffering!
Conscious effort to think also ends thinking - are you serious?!
ReplyDeleteI was trying this out, and I eventually felt confused on what I was doing/thinking/attempting-to-not-think.
Resistance to any reality is always subconscious. Resistance is nothing but a series of thoughts and as I said earlier, those thoughts or "Thinking happens when awareness slips below a certain threshold level." You cannot be consciously angry- our anger manifests when our awareness of anger is below a threshold level! Make an effort to be angry- you cannot be angry!
ReplyDeleteOnce you think anything negative (which is not our true nature)-with effort, with awareness, i.e consciously- those negative thoughts by efflux of time die a natural death- because those thoughts are not aligned with our nature!
Put differently one cannot consciously resist anything. Ego is a subconscious projection of one's assumed beliefs about oneself and therefore the realm of ego is always in the subconscious . Let Ego surface in the open and it just cannot exist.
Make the whole world know- you have an ego- the world will request you to kill it. Ego's survival therefore can never be conscious- it is subconsious.
Once you "allow" resistance to happen, resistance will not happen which means thinking will not happen and Ego will disappear, suffering will end.
This is a very very deep vedantic principle of duality- Praveen. Master this funda and it relieves you of tremondous suffering. I speak from experience!
