The Avatar says that bhajan is only kindergarten and that we have to move on. However, the first hour of the Akhanda Bhajan of 12th-13th Nov. might explain why bhajan is also the primary reason why people wish to remain in spiritual kindergarten. Mind-blowing might be a good word for it. They really pulled off a good one here, and kept it going till the hours really wore out the voices. The gents medley between 3-4 PM was worthy of a stand-alone session.
Incidentally, this might well be the last Akhanda bhajan for, probably the best singer of the Dubai Centre. And the singer proved once more why this label suits well. May the empowered voice find a sincere ear elsewhere that yearns for the ever Holy name.
Talking about Holy name, this Akhanda Bhajan seemed to be more of a genuine Krishna-fest than the Bhajan of Janmashtami past. With Hari's names being invoked by the singers around 5,184 times as per my MBA estimate (a guesstimate, nonetheless), this was a course on Krishna Consciousness.
Hail to the Hailers.

ReplyDeleteSwamy says Akhanda Bhajan is there to ensure “Sarvada Sarvakaleshu Sarvathra Harichintanam"-that probably explains why Hari's name was sung more than 5000 times!
ReplyDeleteThe best singer of Dubai Centre- now I can put two plus two together. I die to hear his songs, the Brian Lara of our Youth Cricket Team and Centre Bhajans-and this was his best AKB performance as well. Not only is he a mindblowing singer, he is a fine gentleman and an excellent human being as well. That dame is indeed a lucky dame to have him as her spouse!! My heart aches to know he is leaving Dubai
Our Brian Lara will often sing this song " Prem Eshawar Hai, Eshwar Prem Hai, Har Dhadkan Me Sai Sama Hai, Eshwar Prem Hai "
I am wondering – How often do we see “Har Dhadkan Me Sai Sama Hai” What does it take to have that “eye of wisdom”? If we cannot see Sai in the person next to us, where will we find mother Sai? Another 5184 Akhanda Bhajans may not get us the vision of the lord. If I as a Sai devotee do not treat a Sai devotee with dignity, respect and love who else can I treat with this feeling?
If only we know well that Spirituality is moving on from the Head to the Heart. The distance is too short but the journey too long!
To See Sai in someone whom we like has no meaning in our life.
To See Sai in someone who likes us, again is of no importance in our life.
To See Sai in someone whom we do not like means we have done something useful in this life.
To See Sai in someone who hurts, humiliates us and disrespects us means we are beginning to become a true devotee of Sai..."
